Mood Board: Lucy Folk

I use the word whimsy a lot – it sums up so well the outlook I both subscribe to and seek out in others.

This also happens to be one of the first words that comes to mind when I think of Lucy Folk (along with cheeky, fun, and a whole lot of good-times) …and her jewellery and accessories label that so handsomely combines Folk’s love of food, art and travel.

The latest collection, ‘Poison Ivy’ has just hit the stores and pays homage to her teenage years, drawing inspiration from the lust and frivolity of the early 90’s with pieces like the ‘Pash Rash’ cuff, ‘Grovel’ pearl ring and ‘Guns ’N’ Roses’ choker.

Mood Board: Kirstin Ash

As a little girl, I remember being a wee bit obsessed with my mothers jewellery box. I could often be found reverently inspecting each piece, rolling them over in my (chubby little) hands and daydreaming about the special stories that each held.

Fast forward thirty(ish) years (ahem) and I happen upon Kirstin Ash… and all those same stirrings of nostalgic whimsy return.

But this is no coincidence – the inspiration behind Kirstin’s wonderful collections of rings, charms, pendants, bracelets, studs and necklaces is indeed to weave stories and evoke a sentiment for the wearer.

Which led me to ponder – What inspires Kirstin?

Keen to find out too?

Mood Board: Ashlea Holdsworth

We were chatting recently about that enduring (and oh, so endearing) genre – Sports Luxe.

One of the flag bearing ambassadors for this movement is much-loved Australian fashion-meets-activewear label, The Upside.

A big part of the brands success can be attributed to the creative vision of their lovely Head Designer, Ashlea Holdsworth.

Love Sports Luxe?

Mood Board: Amanda Briskin-Rettig

One of the (many, yes?) great things about INEZ Daily is that I get to share with you all the wonderful finds I happen upon in my role as a fashion stylist.

Today it’s Amanda Brisken-Rettig (best known as the founder of Australian accessory label Mimco, which she later sold after more than 10 years at the helm) and her fantastic bag and accessory label, A-Esque.

Amanda’s approach to design is subtle and considered yet disarmingly curious. What I love most however is that each piece in the A-Esque collection has no obvious branding, leaving their handsome lines and hand-crafted details to compliment each individual wearers unique identity.

What to take a little peek inside the creative mind of Amanda Brisken-Rettig?

Mood Board: Melanie Kamsler

Melanie Kamsler is one half of the creative force behind MANIAMANIA – that fantastic fashion jewellery label that’s worn by a whole swag of seriously stylish sorts (read: Abbey Lee Kershaw, Dree Hemingway, Cara Delevingne, Georgia May Jagger, Julia Restoin Roitfeld, Chloë Sevigny, Alexa Chung, Devendra Banhart and Alison Mosshart to name but a few).

Citing inspiration for her collections from as many and varied sources as magic, mysticism, occult symbology, astrology, astronomy, crystals, art nouveau, surrealism, Georgian and Victorian era jewellery and the ’60s and ’70s for their aesthetics, culture and music I was keen to see what she has on her Mood Board.

Mood Board: Marcia Leone

My tagline over here at INEZ Daily is ‘Style Solutions for Busy Women’.

Now, it’s no secret that what makes so many of us ’busy’ is that we’re madly trying to find that elusive balance between our work and home lives (read: raising adorable, crazy but often exhausting little people).

Indeed, much of what I do here is influenced by this… seen herehere and here.

And I know I’m not alone.

Marcia Leone, with a background in journalism and marketing started NOTSOMUMSY as a way to channel her love of fashion, style and being a mum into an inspiring, non-judgemental space for like-minded women that celebrate motherhood but also place importance on retaining a sense of self.

The result?

A strong following of very devoted fans!

Mood Board: Megan Park

The collective creative conscience has been shifting, evidenced by the resounding move towards designs that are more crafted, charming and considered.

At the forefront of this movement is the lovely, stylish and terribly talented Megan Park, who’s long been a champion for beautiful, handcrafted textiles. Megan’s much-loved label Megan Park launched in 1997, is indeed renowned for its hand-dyed fabrics, painterly prints, intricate embroidery and the most wonderfully elaborate beadwork.

Her latest instalment, The Lost Collection is testament to this overall ethos.

With a handful of limited edition pieces in a warm, moody palette of paprika, silver, bottle, soot and jet, it takes it’s elemental inspiration from nature, referencing the layers of the earth, the sweep of a tree and even the jewel like clusters of stalactites.

Mood Board: Shira Suveyke

There are discount designer fashion sites…

and then there’s THE OUTNET.COM.

Those in the know head straight to THE OUTNET.COM for all their favourite luxury designers (think: Alexander Wang, Chloé, Lanvin, Balmain, Bottega Veneta, Proenza Schouler, Saint Laurent and so, so sooo much more) at up to 70% off their original prices.

How do they do it?

I dare say Shira Suveyke, Vice President of Global Buying for THE OUTNET.COM has a lot to do with it.

With a role includes managing THE OUTNET’s global buying team, providing input on merchandising and overseeing the buying and production process for THE OUTNET’s exclusive in-house brand, Iris & Ink, I was keen to find out what’s on Shira’s Mood Board at the moment…

Mood Board: Nikki Yazxhi

One of the great things about having your own website is the friendships that you form with other bloggers – since launching INEZ Daily I’ve met the loveliest bunch of clever, funny, talented and supportive peeps through our mutual love of blogging.

One of my favs is the wonderful Nikki Yazxhi from bellaMUMMA – that go-to site for all things beauty and lifestyle, inspiring and informing it’s readers with daily doses of insider info like:

With such a lovely aesthetic in addition to her 20+ year career in the beauty and lifestyle industry, I was keen to know what inspires Nikki.
